Would you like to be a Team USA Chiropractor at the Olympics?

In 1968 at the Summer Olympics Games in Mexico City, Dr Leroy Perry became the first chiropractor to be a team doctor at the Olympics. He was the team chiropractor for the small country of Aruba. Dr George Goodheart became the first official Team USA Chiropractor at the 1980 Winter Games in Lake Placid, NY.

Since then, there have been a great numbers of chiropractors from all countries helping their athletes stay healthy and at the top of their games.

The U.S. Olympic Committee's Sports Medicine staff relies on many volunteers from numerous health care professions including chiropractic. Volunteers must have a minimum of 3 years of experience. The chiropractic volunteers work with the full-time USOC staff to provide collaborative, multi-disciplinary care to the athletes.

If you have experience as a sports chiropractor, treating athletes, like to travel, and love the Olympics, this is a great volunteer opportunity. You can go to TeamUSA.org, and download the  Doctor of Chiropractic Volunteer Application to get started before the next Olympic Games.
